I know I can never be with you, cute hipster girl. My bicycle has not only brakes, but multiple gears. It is, in fact, a hybrid, the fanny pack of the bicycle world. My facial hair is patchy at best, so I am unable to grow a beard. I am not a member of a lo-fi shoegaze indie pop band that sometimes gigs at the local Coffee Shop, and indeed I can’t play any musical instruments well. I can’t even play the ukulele, the fanny pack of the indie rock world. Guten Morgen, Tumblr! (…again) So, I was looking at tutorials on YouTube because I am a sheep and wanted to try the braid-crown thing (I have since learned that it is called a Heidi or Swiss braid, and also that it does not work very well with people who have thick hair, aka m’self), which led to me looking at strangers’ morning make-up rituals. Which led to me involuntarily sighing in relief, on account of I am probably the most low maintenance person in the world. Hyperbolic, but I’m just very surprised at how much gunk people put on their face. Like, I know people use foundation, etc. But primer? Loose powder? That’s a lot of layers. Plus, there’s such a thing called ‘contouring,’ apart from blush (I’m dumb and didn’t know this) and highlighting… and LOL, I don’t know, it just sounds like a lot of work. I know people do it to look nice, but wow. Really? Haha this is a stupid post, but it just astounds me is all. Astounds! OK. I’ll stop talking now. Oh, and I don’t speak German, but my sister uses me as a flashcard-flasher and also asks me if I know what ‘bier’ means, which is perhaps the only word that I knew the meaning of (apart from ‘wiener’ LOLOL). I let her ask me questions, futilely, because she knows the answers and my dumb self affirms her smart self, so I like to help her out in that way.
